PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a female screw forming apparatus which can form a female screw on an inner wall surface of a drilled hole in a rock. SOLUTION: A spiral female screw is correctly formed in the inner wall surface of the drilled hole by abutting a tip portion (a tip 41) of a cutting device 4 projecting from a side surface of a tip of a hollow long member 3 on the inner wall surface of the drilled hole, and moving the cutting device 4 and the hollow long member 3 in an abutted condition in the drilled hole forming direction X while integrally rotating the cutting device and the hollow long member. In this highly versatile female screw forming device, various kinds of female screws can be formed by partly changing the gear configuration of a head unit.
