PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To apply a hermetic compressor to a multi-pressure refrigerating system, to improve in efficiency, reduce in consumption power, and improve in reliability. SOLUTION: A motor 30, a first compression element 31, and a second compression element 32 are provided in a hermetic vessel 29. A suction pipe 46 for the first compression element 31 and a suction muffler 36 are not connected with the internal part of the hermetic vessel 29 and a discharge pipe 47 for the first compression element 31, a discharge pipe 48, and a discharge muffler 37 are not communicated with the internal part of the hermetic vessel 29. A discharge pipe 50 for a discharge muffler 37, a discharge pipe 48, and a discharge muffler 37 are not connected with the internal part of the hermetic vessel 29 but a suction pipe 49 for a second compression element 32, and a suction muffler 41 are communicated with the internal part of the hermetic vessel 29. Since constituted in a manner described above, two suction pressures and two discharge pressures are supplied to a refrigerating system, and an hermetic compressor is provided to improve efficiency and reliability and facilitate control of a refrigerant flow rate.
