NOVEL SYMBIOTIC THERMOPHILE, SYMBIOBACTERIUM TOEBII SC-1, PRODUCING THERMOSTABLE L-TYROSINE PHENOL-LYASE AND L-TRYPTOPHAN INDOLE-LYASE

PURPOSE: Provided is a novel symbiotic thermophile having not only thermostable tyrosine phenol-lyase activity, which produces L-DOPA by lyzing tyrosine with phenol, pyruvic acid and ammonia but also thermostable trytophanase activity, which produces L-tryptophan from indole, pyruvic acid and ammonia. CONSTITUTION: The novel symbiotic thermophile is Symbiobacterium toebii SC-1(accession number KCTC 0685BP) which produces thermostable L-tyrosine phenol-lyase and L-tryptophan indole-lyase, and has symbiotic relationship with Bacillus sp. SK-1(accession number KCTC 0306BP). The Symbiobacterium toebii is independently cultured under anaerobic condition using a mixed medium added with the extract of Bacillus sp. SK-1 cell lysate and nitrate.
