A compound of formula (1): Pc-SO>2<-L-SO>2<-Pc wherein each Pc is independently an optionally substituted phthalocyanine group; and L is a divalent linking group; provided that: (i) L is free from halo-s-triazine groups; and (ii) L is not -NH-CH>2<-CH>2<-NH-CH>2<-CH>2<-NH-. Inks comprising these compounds, ink jet printer cartridges containing these inks, their use in ink jet printing and substrates printed with these compounds and/or inks.
