PURPOSE: A floating tool changer can be applied to assembly lines for various kind of cars for efficiency of work involving a floating tool. CONSTITUTION: A floating tool changer comprises an upper air chuck cylinder(20), an upper grip(21), a lower air chuck cylinder(22) and a lower grip(23). The upper air chuck cylinder(20) and the upper grip(21) car to clamp a floating tool housing. The lower air chuck cylinder(22) and the lower grip(23) are to clamp a floating tool body. The upper air chuck cylinder(20) and the upper grip(21) are vertically moved by a cylinder type robot(24). The floating tool changer includes a first proximity sensor(25), a second proximity sensor(26), a bracket device(27) and a frame device(28). The first proximity sensor(25) detects the ascending position of the floating tool housing. The second proximity sensor(26) is a safety device detecting the positions of a floating tool socket and the housing to restrict the unclamping action of the upper air chuck cylinder(20) and the upper grip(21). The bracket device(27) and the frame device(28) support the members. |
