PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an oriented article high in strength which is capable of the control of orientation and the high speed continuous molding of a thick-wall article and an oriented article obtained by the method, especially an tubular oriented article. SOLUTION: The method includes an orientation process in which a molten crystalline resin is supplied into a die and stretched in the die to be oriented uniaxially or biaxially and a cooling process in which the oriented resin obtained in the orientation process is cooled while the orientation of the resin is kept. In the orientation process, the resin is kept at a temperature not lower than the melting point and not more than the crystal nucleus-remaining limit temperature of the resin.
