PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safe and efficient maintenance method of a molten magnesium supply apparatus having an injection piston, which supplies a molten magnesium in an inside melting furnace into a die casting sleeve arranged nearby the melting furnace. SOLUTION: The molten magnesium supply apparatus is provided with a driving portion arranged on a top plate installed in a top portion of a melting furnace, and an injection piston moving up and down inside an injection sleeve, which is suspended from the top plate and also firmly fixed in a base plate immersed into the melting furnace. Molten magnesium stored in the melting furnace is supplied by the injection piston to a die casting sleeve through a molten metal supply pipe communicating with the outside of the melting furnace via a molten metal passage of molten magnesium, whereby the molten metal passage is arranged through the base plate. (As a maintenance process), the driving portion is attachable separated from the immersion part of the molten magnesium. Next, after the driving portion is moved to a place where it is not affected by high temperature gas and smoke generated at the burning of molten magnesium stuck to the immersed parts, exposed in the air Then, the immersed portion is pulled up and repaired.
