PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely and efficiently produce an impregnated material in which a liquid impregnant comprising a functional material for modifying a fibrous structure is uniformly distributed in the layer fibrous structure even to all the layers. SOLUTION: This method for producing an impregnated material is characterized as comprising a first step for impregnating a layer fibrous structure with the liquid impregnant comprising the functional material for modifying the fibrous structure and a second step for compressing the fibrous structure passing through the first step, squeezing and deforming the fibrous structure. In the process, the compression is carried out so that the thickness of the fibrous structure in the second step is 50-80 when the thickness of the fibrous structure prior to the passage of the first step is 100.
