The method for producing a gellic cosmetic is characterized by emulsifying an oily activating material (A) with a soln. contg. a water-soluble activating material (B) to obtain a water/oil emulsion (C), and filling the emulsion (C) in a water-soluble viscosity- increasing agent (D) soln. contg. activating component. The agent (D) is pref. carboxyvinyl polymer, methylcellulose, carboxymethyl cellulose, hydroxyethyl cellulose or sodium alginate.
