<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extract background from a series of images with high accuracy. SOLUTION: A read part 32 detects the pixels existing at the same positions in terms of space from the images of 1st to N-th frames with the backgrounds of these frames being aligned with each other. A frequency-counting part 33 calculates the frequency of value of the pixels existing at the same positions in terms of space. Then a write part 35 stores the pixel value, having a frequency ratio larger than the prescribed value to the number of pixels existing at the same positions in terms of space into a background memory 15, as the value of background pixels forming a background image. On the basis of the background pixels whose value are stored in the memory 15, the background image that is stored in the memory 15 is extended (the value of background pixels whose value are not stored are written).</p> |
