PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a magnet roll high in bending strength without needing a complicated deviation preventive mechanism, capable of preventing the occurrence of difference in surface level between split members to eliminate the occurrence of catch at a contact time with the other member and worn particle, preventing the entering of toner into a crack between the split members and increasing the latitude of the design of a metallic mold to be used at the time of manufacturing a roll. SOLUTION: This magnet roll is provided with the roll main body 1 of a split type cylindrically formed by combining slender split members 2 consisting of a resin magnet material and split into two or more parts in a circumferential direction. In this case, at least the magnetic action area of the outer peripheral surface of the roll main body 1 is coated with heat shrinkable resin film. For instance, resin film consists of either one of polyethylene, polyvinylchloride, polyethylene terephthalate and Teflon. The thickness of the resin film is defined as >=20μm and <=500μm.
