PURPOSE: To decrease rush-in noise produced by changes in voltage between data lines and to improve the image quality without forming a new metal layer for shielding. CONSTITUTION: In an active matrix type liquid crystal display device having a substrate 60 on which a pixel matrix, data driver circuit for driving data lines, and gate driver circuit for driving gate lines are formed together with the data driver circuit and the gate driver circuit mounted outside of a sealing region outside of the pixel matrix, the whole data lines 70 formed between the data driver circuit and the pixel matrix is surrounded by metal layers 66, 72 different from the data lines 70 which are used for other than shielding purpose.
