PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuse avoiding a rapid break tendency, and allowing improvement in manufacturing property and adhesion of a fuse element, and provide a manufacturing method therefor. SOLUTION: In this manufacturing method, a polyimide film having a sputtered film formed by sputtering copper is thermocompression-bonded onto one side of a glass cloth resin substrate 2 to form a highly adhesive polyimide resin layer 3, then a laminated fuse element is formed by etching the sputtered film in a prescribed fuse pattern to form a highly adhesive first metal film 5, and forming a second metal film 6 by tin electroplating on the upper surface of the first metal film 5 through a third metal film 8 formed by nickel plating. Next, a protective layer 13 is formed such that the protective layer 13 covers a narrow part of the fuse element 7, and cross-sectionally U-shaped electrodes 11, 11 are formed in both end parts uncovered with the protective layer 13 from the fuse element 7 to the rear surface side. Thereby, the polyimide resin layer 3 prevents thermal dissipation to prevent a rapid fusion, and improves adhesion of the fuse element 7. This manufacturing method can improve a manufacturing property.
