PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a foamed composite sheet used as a floor material or the like having no problem in flexibility, expansion ratio, residual indentation property or the like and a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: A compsn. prepared by compounding 0.5-10 pts.wt. of a thermally decomposable chemical foaming agent with 100 pts.wt. of a resin component consisting of polyethylene and an ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer is pelletized in a non-foamed state and the obtained pellets are ground and the ground pellets sprinkled over a fiber base material to be sintered and foamed to form synthetic resin foamed layer.
