PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent accidents by displaying an image taken in the direction of a driver's blind spot, and calling the driver's attention to the image. SOLUTION: This device is provided with an image taking means 11 installed in a vehicle for picking up an image of the blind spot of a vehicle driver 29, an image display means 15 for displaying the image picked up by the image taking means, and a line-of-sight position detecting means 16 for detecting the position of the line of sight of the driver 29 on the image display means. When a movement detecting means 14 detects a moving object within the image and the line-of-sight position detecting means 16 detects that the vehicle driver does not look at the image display means 15, an alarm sound is issued from an alarm sound issuing means 17 to call the driver's attention.
