PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a transformer to be lessened in loss, improved in efficiency, and reduced in cost, size, and weight by a method wherein the coil of a transformer is equipped with a primary and a secondary winding, the windings are concentrically wound on an iron core, a sheet-like electric wire is used as one of the windings, and a structure member which holds the interior of the transformer is formed of non- magnetic material. SOLUTION: A transformer is equipped with an iron core 1 and a primary and a secondary windings 21 and 22 where the windings 21 and 22 are concentrically wound on the core 1, and a sheet-like electric wire is used as either of the windings. A three-phase penta-pod iron core transformer is equipped with the iron core 1 formed of amorphous magnetic material, where a coil bobbin 23 is provided as a structural member to the inner circumference of the coil, and coil pressing metal pieces A31 and B32 are arranged as structural members on the outer periphery of the coil. The structural member located inside the coil are formed of non-magnetic material, and the structural members located outside the coil are formed of magnetic material. Therefore, an eddy current hardly flows, and the transformer can be lessened in eddy- current loss. As a structural member inside a coil is formed of non-magnetic material, the structural member is hardly affected by a leakage magnetic flux, and an eddy current can be lessened even if a structural member is formed of magnetic material.
