PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve cutting accuracy by preventing tool base strain and vibration during cutting operations. SOLUTION: A super-abrasive grain cutting wheel 1 typical of the super- abrasive grain tool comprises a doughnutlike base 2 and a super-abrasive grain layer 3 formed along the circumference of the base 2. The base 2 consists of a hard material including, as the hard phase, carbide of a solid-solution alloy of molybdenum and tungsten. The super-abrasive grain cutting wheel 1 thus has such mechanical strength and rigidity as can prevent strains such as buckles and waves during cutting operations, and is also free from vibration during cutting operations.
