PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent occurrence of cracking, chlorosis and burring on a cutting surface and to prevent damage of a cutting blade member due to an excessive load at the time of cutting a thermoplastic resin mold. SOLUTION: This cutting device 1 for thermoplastic resin cuts a cutting article 100 in a state of locally softening it by clamping it as a pair of cutting blade members 2, 12 relatively provided against each other approaches each other while it is heated by a heating means 8. At this time, elastic bodies 7, 17 prevent occurrence of burring on a cutting surface by adjusting moving speed, that is, cutting speed of the cutting blade members 2, 12 by controlling driving force to be given from a cylinder 4. Additionally, stoppers 6, 16 make each of the cutting blade members 2, 12 contact with each other with no clearance between them at a terminal position and without collision against each other, and prevent damage of the cutting blade members 2, 12 because of receiving an excessive load.
