PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a safe catalyst combustor by a method wherein a thermocouple for constituting a safety device is supported by a supporting member in a combustion chamber through a heat insulating material, while the opening and closing of a solenoid valve in a gas pipeline for supplying gas to the combustion chamber are controlled by the thermoelectromotive force of the thermocouple. SOLUTION: A catalyst combustor for obtaining a quantity of heat for heating or the like through catalyst combustion employing the fuel of liquefied kerosene gas is provided with a combustion unit 11 constituted of a combustion chamber 11 equipped with a catalyst 13, a gas discharging port 20 for discharging the fuel gas supplied through a gas pipeline 19 against the catalyst 13, an ignition plug 15, a flame extinguishing net 42 for extinguishing flames and the like. In this case, a safety device or a thermocouple 21 is provided and the temperature measuring unit of the same is abutted against the catalyst 13 while the thermocouple 21 is fixed to a casing body 35 by a supporting member 25 through a heat insulating material 26. When the fire extinguishing of the fuel gas once ignited is detected by the thermocouple 21, the solenoid valve 18 is closed to stop the supply of the fuel gas from a gas tank 16.
