PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow an image pickup device to pick up a moving picture, a still picture, a panorama picture, a high definition panorama picture and a high definition still picture even if a mirror block in front of a lens block is not eliminated. SOLUTION: A mirror 32 is placed in a way that a lens block 3 is not in contact with the mirror 32, a path of a light reflected in the mirror 32 is not overlapped with the lens block 3, a distance between the lens block 3 and the mirror 32 is shortest and the mirror 32 is placed at an angle of 45 degrees with respect to the optical axis of the lens block 3. When the mirror 32 is placed at an angle of about 45 degrees with respect to the optical axis of the lens block 3, the lens block 3 with a standard field angle is used to allow a CCD image pickup element 5 to completely capture an incident light from an object. Furthermore, when the lens block 3 is set to a telescopic mode, the mirror 32 is vertically driven by±15 degrees to allow the CCD image pickup element 5 to completely capture the incident light from the object via the lens block 3.
