Printing machine cylinder (1.1) consists of a cylinder body (2) made of a metallic material with a linear expansion coefficient alpha less than 5 x 10<-6> K<-1> in a temperature region of 20-60 deg C. The metallic material is iron containing 30-40, preferably 36, wt.% nickel. The whole of the cylinder is made of the metallic material.
