<p>The bascule bolt assembly (1), designed to be fitted into the edge of a preferably timber upright (12) of a window or French window, has a mechanism (18) to convert the rotary movement of an actuator (31) into the lengthwise movement of a slider (54) and bolt (6, 7). The mechanism is enclosed in a moulded housing, preferably made from a cast zinc alloy, which is fitted into a recess (19) in the frame upright and has inner surfaces shaped to guide and position the mechanism's components and half-bearings for the converter pinion spindle.</p> |
