APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR TRANSCEIVING VARIABLE LENGTH OF DATA ACCORDING TO RADIO LINK PROTOCOL IN MOBILE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

PURPOSE: An apparatus for transceiving variable length of data in a mobile communication system is provided to make variable length of radio link protocol(RLP) frames, so as to transmit more data to physical channel frames having various sizes and structures. CONSTITUTION: A transmission data buffer(122) stores transmission data. Each of radio link protocol(RLP) processors includes an RLP controller, a L_V(S) register, and a retransmission buffer. The RLP processors read data stored in the transmission data buffer to generate RLP frames having consecutive serial numbers. A multiplexing controller(140) requests sizes of the RLP frames and generates multiplexing frames including more than one RLP frame. A physical layer processor(150) transmits physical frames including more than one multiplexing frame through physical channels.
