PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute a recording condition control for every recording medium and to compensate the adverse effect caused by thermal interference by creating the data table of the plural patterns, in which the combination of the pulses having different continuous (n) pulse interval lengths is different, and the corresponding recording pulse interval adjustment amounts. SOLUTION: A pulse width setting discriminating circuit 17 time sequentially stores the data, that include the pulse interval information of characteristic measurement test patterns, into an internal ROM as reference data. Every time a polarization reversal interval signal 14 is received, a conversion is made to an edge fluctuation amount by the reference data and the accumulated values of the conversion result for every recording pattern are internally accumulated. Moreover, detection signal errors of a recording medium defect are automatically transmitted to a controller. In the care of no error, the average value of the edge fluctuation amounts is computed from the adding result stored at the time of signal receiving completion of the signal 14 and the value is transmitted to a data converting circuit 18 to create a pulse width adjustment table 19. Thus, the fluctuation component related to the edge position of reproduced signals caused by thermal interference is eliminated. |
