The invention relates to a method for producing welded or hot-sealed seal-edge bags. The contents of said bags are an exactly dosed portion of a preparation of an substrate that produces gas in an aqueous medium. The seal-edge bag is filled with the content during the production. The invention is characterised in that a string of a carrier foil is withdrawn from a supply roll using conveying means and is conveyed to a filling station on the conveying means. An exactly dosed portion of the contents is applied to the carrier foil in the filling station when said portion runs cyclically in respect to said carrier foil and over certain areas. The portions are then covered with a covering foil which can be detached from the supply roll. The two superimposed foils are welded or hot-sealed together, first cross-wise in relation to the direction of conveyance and when conveyance continues are welded or hot-sealed together on the longitudinally extending edges thereof and whereupon said they are once again welded or hot-sealed together cross-wise in relation to the direction of conveyance, whereby bags are formed that have sealed edges all around. The foils are then separated by cross-punching devices.
