A support apparatus 10 comprises a handle 14 connected to a hollow compartment 72, wherein the handle includes an elongate bar 80 spaced from the compartment and sized to be grasped by the person. An apparatus which further comprises a pair of spaced frame members 40 connected to the compartment is also described, wherein the members are adapted to secure the apparatus to a structure, such as a bed 20. Another arrangement comprises at least two of the support apparatus configured substantially parallel to each other, whereby one or more transverse frame members (12, Fig. 10) are fixed to the spaced frame members so as to join that two sets of apparatus together. Each of the apparatus described may be used to assist a person getting into or out of bed. |
