PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To recover a cover and a gypsum part separately by a method in which while the number of charged gypsum boards is regulated in an inlet part, the boards are supplied to a downward crusher and pressed in turn by a pair of rolls and others. SOLUTION: An opening clearance for regulating gypsum boards one by one by the regulation member 14 of a cracking apparatus 1, after the clearance of a pair of rolls 3, 4 being adjusted by the adjustment mechanism 22 of a crusher 2, the gypsum boards are charged into a hopper 13. The boards are arranged by a vibrating apparatus 16, supplied one by one to the crusher 2, caught by rolls 3, 4, and pressed in turn from the end parts. Only fragile gypsum substrate 51 is crushed by the contact of the tips of projections 32, 42 whose phases are dislocated from each other around the rolls 3, 4 and peeled off from covers 52 on both sides to fall downward. The covers 52, when they approach the circumferential surfaces of the rolls 3, 4, by the existence of a continuous space generated longitudinally and laterally around the projections 32, 42, are discharged as sheets without being cut into pieces.
