PURPOSE: A washing machine is provided to accomplish a superior washing efficiency while allowing the wash water to make fluctuation within a wash tub. CONSTITUTION: A washing machine having at least a driving unit, and wash tub for containing laundry, wash water and detergent, comprises a rotator(30) and a link mechanism for converting a rotational force from a driving unit into a linear reciprocation, a pair of reciprocating members(10) connected to the link mechanism and disposed within a wash tub, the reciprocating members reciprocating between maximum width and minimum width, and a guide member(60) disposed beneath the reciprocating members so as to guide the reciprocating movement of the reciprocating members.
