The cover (1) for the asparagus ridge (2) has an elongated length of sheeting whose two lengthwise edges (3,4) are turned up onto themselves and form a lengthwise fold (5) with at least one inner hollow cavity (7) open at both ends. The cavity extends the entire length of the cover. The turned-over area (8) is joined lengthwise to the non-folded-over part (9). The cavity is filled with liquid, especially water. The two ends (6) are closed after the liquid is poured in by a closure element gripping over the hollow cavity and placed on the fold.
