PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress costs for a cooling chamber auxiliary facility such as a cooling fan while a molten material packed in a thin-wall steel reception vessel is cooled safely and quickly with no deformation or fusion damage with it, related to a process for a molten waste discharged from a fusion furnace, as well as reduction in space of a cooling chamber. SOLUTION: A heated and fused molten waste is housed in a thin-wall steel reception vessel and which is cooled and solidified together with the vessel as a waste. A thin-wall steel reception vessel 2 for housing the heated and fused molten 13, and a holding vessel 3 for housing the reception vessel 2 while tightly contacting a bottom 4 and perimeter of the vessel 2, are provided, with the holding vessel 3 formed of the material whose heat conductivity is 5.8 w/m.k or above.
