APPARATUS FOR REMOVAL OF NAPHTHALENE FROM COKE OVEN GAS

PURPOSE: An apparatus for removing naphthalene from coke oven gas is provided which prevents fouling of various pipes by contacting coke gas with cooling water and pouring coarse oil into the cooling water and improves the absorption efficiency of naphthalene remarkably by reducing gas temperatures. CONSTITUTION: A apparatus comprises a water droplet removing apparatus (20) located at the upper part of a direct type gas cooler (10) for removing water droplet generated from the cooler, a dispersing plate (17) located in the center of the cooler for preventing fouling of the cooler by pouring coarse oil generated as byproducts in the purification of coke gas into the cooling water, a packed column (18) located at the lower part of the dispersing plate for enhancing the contacting efficiency of coarse light oil (14) and gas, a contactor (16) of tar and cooling water located at the side of a settling tank (1) for extracting coarse light oil (14) component from cooling water by tar, and a nozzle (21) installed on the contactor for promoting the contacting efficiency of cooling water and tar by generating turbulent flow.
