PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive drier capable of drying garbage rapidly and preventing the leakage of malodorous air. SOLUTION: A downward air current shown by arrows is generated by a fan 25 fixed to the upper tip of an agitating shaft 21 in correspondence to the size of the fan 25, the air current efficiently hits a material 10 to be treated while agitating almost the whole air in a treating tank 2, and the material 10 is rapidly dried. Since the fan and agitating shaft 21 are driven by the same drive source, the production cost and running cost are reduced. Since the air is not sent into the treating tank 2 under pressure, the air never leaks out from an inlet door 2a or a front door 1a, the environment is not polluted, and the device need not be made precisely airtight.
