PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a handle pull-operation type latch device which is excellent in controllability and less in rubbing resistance between a latch body and a case inner surface because operations ranging from unlocking to door opening can be performed by a series of operations in forward direction. SOLUTION: In a handle pull-operation type latch device, a pair of right and left side cam levers 13 and 13 are installed pivotally, through a pivot shaft 12, on both sides of a latch body 9 inserted into a rear case 3, a pair of right and left side operating projected elements 7 and 7 of a handle are brought into contact with passive shoulder parts 15 and 15 of a slider 14, and a drive end part 13a of each cam lever 13 is brought into contact with a passive projection 16 of the latch body 9. Passive end parts 13b and 13b of each cam lever 13 are brought into contact with a pair of right and left side drive projections 17 and 17 of the slider 14, the latch body 9 is energized by a spring 18, and the slider 14 is energized by a spring 19.
