PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a headrest device for automobile rear seat capable of securing the field of back view and protecting the head of a crew in the case of a rear side collision as well without performing complicated switch operation. SOLUTION: Since a headrest 4 is ordinarily in the horizontal state, the field of back view is not disturbed. When a forward shock exceeding a set limit is applied to a car body by rear side collision or the like, since the headrest 4 is turned into standing state at the upper part of a rear seat back 1, the head of the crew can be surely protected by the headrest 4. Accordingly, since the headrest 4 is automatically turned into standing state without depending on the switch operation, there is no trouble like.
