OUTDOOR UNIT FOR SPLIT TYPE AIR CONDITIONER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent entrance of rain water into a power source plate and inside and outside connecting power source terminal blocks in an outdoor unit without using a sealing material and to reduce its cost, by forming a rain water entrance preventing rib integrally with an overall periphery of an upper end of a side plate of an outer case of an outdoor unit. SOLUTION: An outdoor unit outer case contains a heat exchanger, a fan motor, a compressor and the like. The case is formed by clamping a side plate 2 and a front plate at a board by screws. A top plate 5 is screw clamped with upper parts of the plate 2 and the front plate. A rain water entrance preventing rib 13 is formed integrally with a part to be superposed with the plate 5 at the overall periphery of the upper end of the plate 2 of the case. The rib 13 is brought into contact with an inner surface of a suspended part of the plate 5 to thereby eliminate a gap. Thus, a sealing material which has heretofore been necessary at the superposed parts of the plate 2 and the plate 5 is eliminated to reduce its cost and to improve its assembling operability.
