PURPOSE: An apparatus for printing image file of a printer is disclosed to simplify the image file printing process and to eliminate the execution of additional programs by enabling the printer to interpret the image file's header and to convert the file into a printable data. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for printing image file of a printer is composed of reception, analyzation, conversion, relocation, inspection, and print execution. A CPU(100) receives the computer's printer command or file through an interface unit(500), analyzes the command and converts file into a printable data. A converted data is temporarily stored in the memory(200) and then sent to the engine(300). When the image data is sent to the engine, command handler(600) reads the header to determine if the data is an image file, and if image file, swatch builder(700) inspects the image's size, color, and other information and converts it into a printable data. After conversion of data is complete, image file is printed and the OPE(400) displays the printing process and when printing is complete, printer is returned to ready state.
