PURPOSE: A high purity oxyalkylene-modified organopolysiloxane and preparation method thereof are provided which do not contain an excess aryl polyoxyalkylene compound as a major cause of undesirable odor. CONSTITUTION: A high purity oxyalkylene-modified organopolysiloxane useful as hair protecting preparations, skin protecting preparations, cosmetics, silicone emulsions and polyurethane forms is manufactured by reacting a mixture containing vinyloxy polyalkylene compounds, organohydrogensiloxane compounds and platinum group metal-containing catalysts. The process does not contain an excess aryl polyoxyalkylene compound as a major cause of undesirable odor in final products.
