PURPOSE: A pedal assembly is provided to make a supporting device move the pedal assembly from a vehicle driver to a distance when a big force is given to a driver if the vehicle is collided with other objects. CONSTITUTION: A pedal assembly includes a bracket(16) improved to be installed in a vehicle structure(18) such as a fireproof wall or a gauge plate assembly, and a supporting device(26) includes a fastener(30) for connecting a pedal arm(20) on the bracket with a pivot(16) on a pivot shaft(32). Herein, the fastener has a first end part fixed on the bracket and a second end part(36) capable of moving to the bracket between a first position where the pedal arm exists within an operation plane(28) and a second position where the pedal arm is moved out of the range of the operation plane. In addition, the second end part is moved to a second from a first position by reacting upon a certain force between the pedal arm and the bracket. Thereby, when a certain force is reached on the collision of the vehicle, the first end part is fixed, and the second end part is moved so that the pedal assembly is bent out of the manipulation area of a driver. |
