PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic camera system with which a photographer can control a camera, without having to hand hold anything. SOLUTION: A photographer wears an electronic camera main body 10 consisting of an eyeglass type frame 12 provided with a camera section 14 and a display section 16 such as eyeglasses on his head. A remote controller is configured in such a way that it is mounted on the wrist of the photographer like a wristwatch, and its belt is provided with a signal detection section to detect a myoelectric signal generated by motions of photographer muscles. Camera control commands, such as an instruction of photographing start and a zooming operation, are related to prescribed gestures consisting only of combinations of motions of a hand and fingers ahead of the wrist and of the upper arm, the signal detection section detects the motion of the photographer's arm and hand and a command defined to the gesture controls the camera section.
