PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an escaping operation device for a retrofitted plane lattice by which an unlocking manipulation from the outdoor side can not be effected even if special tools are used and safety of the escape face lattice can be greatly improved, by necessitating a simultaneous operation combined with an operation of an operation member to bring it to the unlocked state, in a state that an operating bar is horizontally positioned. SOLUTION: An operation bar 14 longer than an adult's hand is fitted to at least one vertical frame sash of a retrofitted plane lattice frame so as to make it possible to freely rise and fall, and an operation rod 16 through which the longitudinal movement is allowed in the inside of the operation bar 14 and a locking mechanism can be locked or unlocked by the shifting operation in the longitudinal direction is housed. An operation member which fixes the operation rod 16 in the locking position of the locking mechanism against the operation bar 14 and unfixes the operation rod 16 only in a state that the operation bar 14 is horizontally prostrated, is provided at the front end of the operation rod 16 to make it difficult to release the retrofitted plane lattice from the outdoor side.
