An underwater animal preservation method capable of preserving an underwater animal using a method that allows the animal to survive transportation by restricting its motion function in an ecology-compatible way and according to the type of the captured underwater animal. With the fish body (4) held down so that a first electrode (51) sticks in the caudal fin side (42) of the fish body (4) and the tip end (52h) of a second electrode (52) sticks in a portion on the slightly rear side of the gill cover (41), power is supplied for about 10 to 60 seconds. After confirming that the mouth and the gill cover (41) are closed but the gill cover (41) is slightly opening and closing, the fish is lifted and disconnected from the electrodes. The fish is then kept in a water tank filled with cool water 5 to 10 °C cooler than the lower limit of the survival temperature for 1 to 5 minutes. The fish body (4) is then taken out and kept in another cool-water tank with a temperature lower than but very close to the lower limit of the survival temperature.
|
