PURPOSE: A reflective LCD and manufacturing method thereof is provided to improve the reliability of a product by preventing an optical leakage current of a thin film transistor. CONSTITUTION: A gate line transmits a scanning signal on a first insulating substrate(100) in a horizontal direction. A gate wire having a gate electrode(210) is formed. A maintaining electrode line(220) is formed with the gate line(200) in horizontal direction. The surface of gate wires(200,210) and an electrode line(220) are covered with a gate insulating film(300). A semiconductor layer(400) is formed on the gate insulating film(300). Resistor contacting layers(510,520) are formed on the semiconductor layer(400). A source electrode(610) and a drain electrode(620) are formed on resistor contacting layers(510,520). A maintaining electrode(640) is formed on the gate insulating film(300). A block matrix(700) is formed on data wires(600,610,620), a connecting portion(630), the maintaining electrode(640), the semiconductor layer(400), and the gate insulating film(300).
