PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To beautifully finish a work without being troublesome by controlling to carry so as to overlap the extreme end of a succeeding recording sheet with the rear end of a recording sheet, in the case of long record. SOLUTION: In this device, the carrying speed of a feed roller 6 is faster than the carrying speed of a carrying roller 10, and even if feed of next recording sheet is begun since the rear end of a recording sheet is detected, the preceeding recording sheet can be overtaken on the way. Consequently, since the rear end of the recording sheet is detected by a sheet sensor S1, feed of the next recording sheet is begun so as to obtain a fixed overlapping quantity considering the carry of the feed roller 6. The next recording sheet is controlled so that a remaining quantity G on the upper stream side from between the carrying roller 10 and the pinch roller 11 becomes a fixed overlapping quantity. By overlapping the next recording sheet with the recording sheet during recording in this way, printing is continued without complicated control, and banner (long) record can be easily performed.
