PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a lock arm to smoothly return to the original position when normally engaging of male/female housings to each. SOLUTION: A spring holder 25 where a coil spring is incorporated is mounted to a female housing 11. When male and female housings 1, 11 engage with each other and then a lock arm 20 strand on top of a locking projection 7, a restricting wall 39 is locked to a lock pawl 22, which allows the coil spring to be compressed. In this case, the abutting face of the restricting wall 39 against the lock pawl 22 is a tapered face 40. When the lock arm 20 passes over the locking projection 7 and then returns to the original position, the restricting wall 39 is pushed against the lock arm 20 with the receiving of spring force F of the coil spring. At this time, a component force F1 in the direction where the lock arm 20 returns is obtained from the spring force F with the aid of the tapered face 40. Accordingly, the component force F1 and the return force of the lock arm 20 itself enable the lock arm 20 to smoothly return so that the lock arm can be locked with respect to the locking projection 7.
