PACKING PROTRUSION INSPECTING MACHINE FOR SPEAR VALVE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect the protrusion of a packing from the top surface of a spear valve mounted on the base part of a barrel for drink by providing a sensor device having a light emitting part and a light receiving part and outputting a signal according to the light receiving quantity of the light receiving part. SOLUTION: A barrel 1 placed on a conveyor 11 is carried to an inspecting position P1 just under an inspecting device 12 while positioned in the lateral center of the conveyor 11 by a guide 14. The inspecting device 12 inspects the presence of extrusion of the packing of the barrel 1 carried into the inspecting position P1. Namely, the sensor device of the inspecting device 12 has a pair of light emitting part and light receiving part and outputs a signal according to the light receiving quantity of the light receiving part. A sensor holding device holds the light emitting part and the light receiving part so that the luminous flux from the light emitting part scans the space near the top surface of the spear valve of the barrel 1 substantially in parallel to the top surface and is incident on the light receiving part. A judgment device judges the presence or absence of protrusion of the packing form the spear valve on the basis of the output signal from the sensor device when the light emitting part and the light receiving part are rotated.
