PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sliding mechanism having a simple constitution, wherein a smooth sliding movement is realized and the cost of components are low. SOLUTION: This sliding mechanism is used as a mechanism for supporting a head board 2 supporting the magnetic head 3 of a tape recorder so as to be slid with respect to a base plate 1. Specifically, the head board 2 has two standing bent parts 2b and 2c along a sliding direction, the standing bent parts are inserted into guiding grooves 1a and 1b provided in the base plate 1 and attached, and then supported by being held between projections 1b and 1c and projections 1e and 1f disposed oppositely to the two guiding grooves 1a and 1d. Accordingly, even when burrs are left in the standing bent parts by press- molding, a smooth movement is realized without the abutment of the burrs on the guiding grooves 1a and 1d.
