PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power loss by eliminating a discharge prohibition/permission switch circuit at the side of electronic equipment. SOLUTION: A terminal 260 for controlling discharge is provided at a battery pack 200, in addition to a plus terminal 240 and a minus terminal 250, and a signal for controlling turning on/off of a switch circuit 230 for preventing excessive discharging can be inputted from an external device 270. As a result, when a control signal for prohibiting discharging is added to the terminal 260 for controlling discharging by a discharging prohibition/permission control part 280 of the device 270, a control part 220 forces to turn off a switch circuit 230 for preventing excessive discharge. In this manner, the switch circuit 230 for preventing excessive discharge can be used for discharging prohibition/ permission control from the side of the device 270.
