PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically extract an evaluation item by using specifications and an instruction manual as they are by extracting an item as for a software product is evaluated, and generating a time series and a combination of object items in such a case and generating an evaluation item table of the software product. SOLUTION: A word extracting means 21 reads a character string out of a document 1 such as specifications and an instruction manual. Then words stored in a word dictionary 26 are searched to decompose the read character string into word strings. The obtained word strings are passed to a syntax analyzing means 22 to take a syntax analysis. Then an operation part extracting means 23 excludes description parts which are irrelevant to the operation of the software product by using data on a subject, a verb, and an object shaped by the syntax analyzing means 22. Then an operation combination pattern generating means 24 receives information on sentences concerned in the operation of the product obtained by the extracting means 23 and classifies it by the same operation objects. The classified information is used to generate a combination table of simultaneous operations and a combination table of operations in a time series.
