PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform the authentication information input of high secrecy with a simple operation without forcing high-grade operation burdens on a user in inexpensive constitution by inputting authentication information by a display device for virtually area-dividing a display screen and the combinational operation of the pressing/depressing a button provided on a pointing device. SOLUTION: When the button of the pointing device (PVD) 105 is pressed, which one of divided areas inside a display screen area is positioned at is calculated and the area number is stored in a prescribed address area on a main memory (RAM) 108. At the time of detecting the movement of the PVD 105, the area number of the position is calculated and compared with the area number recorded immediately before. In the case that the area number is different, it is stored in the RAM 108. The storage processing is repeatedly executed while the PVD 105 is moved. Then, by releasing the button pressing of the PVD 105, the read of an authentication key is ended.
