PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance blue purity, increase heat resistance, and keep stable blue luminescent characteristics for a long time by including an aromatic diamine compound a luminescent layer. SOLUTION: The luminescent layer of a luminescent element contains a compound represented by the formula. In the formula, Ar<1> and Ar<2> each represents an aromatic hydrocarbon group or an aromatic heterocyclic group which may be independent and have a substitutional group. R<1> to R<18> represent an alkyl group, an aralkyl group, an alkenyl group, an amine group, an amide group, an alkoxy carbonyl group, an alkoxy group, which may independently have a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a carboxyl group, a hydroxyl group, or a substitutional group, an aromatic hydrocarbon group which may have a substitutional group, or an aromatic heterocyclic group which may have a substitutional group. X represents divalent aromatic ring residue, which may have a substitutional group, and is preferably selected from among a phenylene group, biphenylene group, or a terphenylene group. |
